At Simmons Driving School, we have the flexible driver's ed schedule you need!

Our 2025 classroom schedule is:

• February 3rd - 14th (Mon-Fri 2 weeks) 5:30-8:30 PM
• March 31st - April 11th (Mon-Fri 2 weeks) 5:30-8:30 PM
• June 9th - 20th (Mon-Fri 2 weeks)  2 sessions offered AM(9am-12pm) OR PM(5pm-8pm)
• July 21st - Aug 1st (Mon-Fri 2 weeks)  2 sessions offered AM(9am-12pm) OR PM(5pm-8pm)
• October 27th - November 7th (Mon-Fri 2 weeks) 5:30-8:30 PM

The Guidelines

• Students must be 15 years old on or before the first day of class.
• By law, permits may not be obtained more than 3 weeks before the first day of class and are not valid until the student has attended 1 hour of classroom instruction.
• All students are required to take a written exam at the BMV to receive their permit.
• This course does not exempt your child from taking a Driving Skills Test, however it does give you an option to take it with us or at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
• Indiana requires students to complete both the classroom and driving portions of the program with a “B” (80%) in each section, in order to pass and qualify for a skills test.

Obtaining your permit at 15 years old (with driver’s education) allows students more time to practice with their parents before they turn 16 years and 90 days and are allowed out on the roads alone.
Mandated by the State of Indiana

• 30 hours of classroom instruction (traditional classroom setting or online)
• Up to 3 hours a day
• 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instructor by a certified instructor
• Up to 1 hour a day
